North Anna work completed quickly
A refueling and maintenance outage for North Anna Power Station's Unit 1 has been completed faster than planned.
The outage, which began March 7, lasted 25 days and was completed this week, said Richard Zuercher, spokesman for Dominion power's nuclear operations. The outage had been scheduled for 28 days.
Workers replaced a third of the unit's uranium fuel, inspected the reactor vessel, cleaned the steam generators and replaced one of two low-pressure turbines.
