Chatham Town Council to Draft New Uranium Resolution

In addition to discussing the apparent success of the "screamers" to rid Chatham of the flocks of vultures that had been circling the town and the latest nuisance of clogged water lines due to bored inmates flushing everything and anything down their toilets, the Chatham Town Council also gave mention to the uranium issue (from the Register & Bee):

The town also approved a suggestion by Mayor George Haley to draft a more “comprehensive” uranium mining resolution than the town currently has and present it at the April meeting.

He called the current resolution, drafted a year ago, “neutral.”

“It doesn’t really say much of anything. It’s not as comprehensive as I believe it should be,” Haley said. “Then you can vote it down, approve it or change it.”

The next meeting will be held April 13.
